Overview
Next-to-skin just went next level.

The IconX Hunting Base Layer is not another tight-fitting base layer that squeezes a body into submission. Compression for compression's sake serves no purpose. The new IconX hunting base layer System hugs your body across thirteen strategically-placed zones of Hydrowick™ hollow fiber. In warm temperatures and periods of high exertion, fibers fill with sweat to push moisture outward for evaporation. When it’s cool to cold, the hollow fibers fill with air that’s heated by your body to keep you warm.  Performance zones help support and lift key muscles for strength whether you’re climbing into your stand or heading up the last hundred feet of a slope that earned your respect a mile ago. There's no better place to start getting dressed for your next hunt than the IconX next-to-skin hunting base layer.

  • Athletic fit for easy layering
  • 7 strategic performance zones for enhanced muscle support, breathability, and thermal regulation
  • Made with HydroWick™ high-performance hollow fiber for unparalleled wicking when you sweat and maintaining warmth when it’s cold

Technology
Thirteen zones. One goal.

We’ve designed our IconX base layer shirts and pants with thirteen unique, high-performance zones – seven in the shirt and six in the pant. Zones are experience and strategically placed to support the most essential muscle groups for strength and endurance, promote improved blood circulation, and increase moisture wicking for unmatched thermal regulation—optimizing your body’s natural performance.

The soft-ribbed zone on the sternum wick away sweat in early season temperatures and during long hikes, while the zone on the back keeps you dry when even when wearing a pack.

Dedicated zones for the abdomen, back, shoulders, triceps, biceps, forearms, hips, quads, and calves ensure muscles are hugged, not compressed, so these key muscles perform as efficiently as possible and blood flow stays optimal as your heart rate increases or slows.

Thin wicking zones behind the knees, under the arms, and at the elbow-bend decrease bulk at the joints, while thicker performance zones at the knees and elbows add padding when you need it.

The result: revolutionary performance and unparalleled comfort in a hunting base layer.

The HydroWick™ difference.

HydroWick™ technology is the cornerstone of our IconX hunting base layer. Our proprietary fabric blend with HydroWick is knitted with hollow, porous, hygroscopic fibers. These hollow fibers dramatically improve moisture wicking over traditional fibers. Insulating and cooling properties are significantly increased by trapping or releasing body heat through the air spaces in the fibers. HydroWick fabric features reduced pilling, enhanced stretch, and offers a smooth fabric feel over the athletic design of IconX. It’s a world-class hunting base layer that’s in a class of its own.

True sizing means true fit.

Whether you’re looking at hunting base layers that will keep you warm, dry and comfortable all day, outer layers that protect you from wild swings in conditions while you’re in the backcountry, or anything in between, the right fit is imperative for optimal gear performance. That’s why we offer True Fit on all Pnuma hunting clothing.

In order to ensure you get the right gear sized to your needs, we give you a 30-day True Fit period. Purchase any Pnuma hunting apparel products and if they don’t fit correctly or you’re dissatisfied in any way simply send them back within 30 days. All returned items must be in new, re-sellable condition. You’ll receive a full refund.

In addition to traditional medium through XXXL, all Pnuma hunting jackets are available in Tall sizes. We’ve designed them with an additional 2” in torso length and 1.5” in the sleeves. The inseam on The Insulator pant has an additional 2” in length. No more swimming in a larger size to get the length you need.

All of our pants, with the exception of The Insulator pant and base layers, are available by waist and inseam. So, whether you’re a 32”/34”, a 40”/36”, or any other combination, you can order the size that fits you, not just the size that fits most.

And since we know that the human body, at rest or in motion, has natural bends and curves in the arms and legs, every top and bottom in every layer we offer has active-contoured elbows and knees to help improve fit and function even further. Even our gloves are designed with curved fingers to replicate the natural shape of our hands.

That means you can order your size and head to the field with confidence knowing you have exactly the right gear - in the right size - for you.

SilverStrike™ Antimicrobial Technology. Nature’s scent control.

Microbes are living cells like bacteria, fungi and algae that can grow on many materials creating foul odors, discoloration, and formation of mildew and biofilm. Put your gear away wet and you know exactly what we’re talking about. The antimicrobial properties of silver, unlike harsh chemical treatments, have been known for centuries. Applying it to outdoor gear is still a great way to combat odor. SilverStrike advanced antimicrobial fabric technology prevents the formation and growth of bacteria and other odor-causing microbes, keeping garments smelling fresher—and you staying undetected—longer.

Sizing
Little heavy so not for early season West hunting. Would be perfect for mid to late. Great quality
Sizing: I’m 6’2 210lbs with a 46” chest and exercise. XL is too tight for my liking. Feels like a compression shirt. Moved to XXL and feels right. Snug but not constricted.

These work very well!!!
I got a set a little late this season for "very cold" trials but so far they are working exactly as expected. I will sign up as a field tested for next Fall. These seem to vent and wick away the heavy moisture very well. I have been matching with other brand singles and each time I notice the IconX is "just right" while the other brand is not performing as I would expect. Nothing but good things to say. Thank you Pnuma!!

Iconx Base Layer
I can tell you throw your Under Armor away, this is the best I have ever seen for cold weather, been minus 6 here in Va and tryst me there is nothing out there as good as this garment for a base layer, I will be buying more, also fits very well and its better than Sitka base layers as well. I cannot stress how much warmth this has.

Ok but not as expected
Well, the jury is still out on this garment. It fits a bit tight and is not as soft as I expected. It is cool looking, but I don't think it works very well. I mean it's not bad, but the merino wool is 10 times better in my opinion. I don't tend to like compression shirts and pants though so my review might be wrong if you like compression garments. Sorry. I like everything else A LOT of the Pnuma stuff I ordered for sure.

Impressive hunting clothes
The iconx shirt fits like a glove around the arms and stomach. Haven’t tried in the field. But I’m sure it will do well as I tried it on around the house and wore it outside at times it keep me warm. I will be ordering pants in the next couple weeks and the Selkirk jacket. Will love to try in hunting in northern Wisconsin to see how warm I will be. Thanks

Really great base layer!
Last week was my first chance to use this system, while deer hunting in PA. I live in SC and it hasn't been cold enough to need it here; however, in PA-temps never broke 50 degrees and were in the 30's & 40's most days. I wore the Icon-X line as my primary layer (overt the Heated Core Vest) and under the Pnuma RogueBase layer. This stuff was GREAt. It was extremely comfortable, didn't pinch or bind up and provided great movement, comfort & warmth. I also REALLY liked the thumb holes & stirrups-that made layering way easier. Obviously this stuff was well thought out-by other hunters, who use it! HIGHLY recommend it!

Iconx vs Cabelas ecws polar weight
i tried to order the Iconx base system but they were not in stock, so i ordered the cabelas ecwcs top and bottoms. a few days before i left on my elk hunt in colorado the Iconx came back in stock so i took both of them.after wearing them both theres no comparision, im 5,11 and 190 . the Iconx fits better. the top comes down longer on my waist and the bottoms fit much better in the crotch area (no drooping)just got back from the trip last night, hunted in temps from 8-40 degrees and snow,

IconX Hunting Base Layer Shirt and pant
Live in Western Washington and it rains a lot. Last weekend was first time wearing and it rained over 5 inches on Saturday in the Cascade Mountains. I was soaked, but did not feel wet against my skin as whatever material is in this stuff works. It was wet, but did not feel it. Made the day into a decent day. Would highly recommend. Got this for elk season which is a week away and will have this on every day.

only dissapoinment from Pnuma
I looked forward to this shirt, but was disappointed to find that the body fit, but the arms were way too short. I'm 6'3", 205lbs with a 36" sleeve. tried to get a larger size, but they were sold out.

Pure Magic!
Pure magic! I sweat a lot when hunting and this shirt does an amazing job of moving the moister away from the body. Best base layer I have ever used. I usually have to take multiple shirt and switch them out as they get saturated from climbing, not with the ICONX shirt it's the only one I need now.

Best Shirt Ever for high output hunting
I purchased the Iconx shirt/top and the HydroWick technology is AMAZING. When I hunt its up and down mountains causing a great deal of sweat to be generated, every other base layer option I have tried leaves me wet and cold. After a hard climb the Iconx technology goes to work, while I might still be a bit sweaty within a few minutes of cooling down I'm still warm. Get it, you won't be sorry. 5'9" 185 and the large fits perfectly.

The Best
I have three sets of these, shirt's and bottom's, this is the best base layer that I have found. I know everyone suck's up the under armor garbage, sorry! But AU sucks!!! Crap quality. Now Pnuma is the best good fit, doesn't stink after three day's of hunting and sweating in it. No pinching or tugging, or ride up...you know what I'm talking about lol. Get some!!!! You're going to love it.

IconX Base Layer
Purchased both top and bottom of this base layer before hunting season 2016. Hunted Pronghorn, Elk and Deer in Colorado, in doing so I encountered a wide variety of temperatures and conditions (from 70's and sunny to 20's and snow). I was initially very impressed with the quality of the base layer upon arrival and the waterproof bag was a nice touch. The description and look seemed to compare to Cabela's X-Bionic ($199 for bottoms and $179 for the top) base layer but at less than half the price. After trying them on at the house I wasn't sure how I would like the tight fit, but after numerous days of use in the field I found them to be extremely comfortable and supportive. What really impressed me was the SilverStrike anti-microbial odor control! I wore the set 24hrs a day for 5 days of very hard Elk hunting where I hiked no less than 8 miles per day, and after 5 days neither I or the base layer smelled. Usually one day of hard hunting in a typical base layer and I have to switch to a clean pair due to the strong B.O. I personally could do without the thumbholes or the stirrups but I just simply don't use the thumbholes and found that the stirrups didn't bother me. Overall I am very impressed with the base layer and plan to purchase a 2nd set. Definitely can't go wrong since they have a lifetime warranty.

Baselayer problems
I recently purchased your base layer top and bottom. I hunt about 80 to 90 days per year in the north east. I found the top of the base layer excellent except for the thumb hole sleeves, not a fan it would have been nice if it were just a form fitting cuff. The bottoms were a different issue for me. I didn't like the little foot things again a form fitting cuff around my ankle would be fine and there was no fly. Now for some people who don't use the bathroom it may not be a problem but when you spent 10 to 12 hours in a tree stand 18 to 20 feet off the ground this presents a problem. You have to remove your full body harness, your out pants and then pull down the base layer pants so you can use the bathroom, not fun. Not sure who designed the hunting clothing but it wasn't a hunter and that's the main problem with the hunting clothing being made today. We as hunter are paying way to much for clothing that doesn't work. Was very disappointed in the bottom layer pants.

Hands down the best base layer I've ever put to the test. Pnuma hit it out of the park with this product. Awesome quality and comfort. Simply unmatched by any other brand. I am an avid deer and Turkey hunter and let me ease any concerns or fears you may have. These are the best base layers on the market to date! They are a little expensive but are backed by a life time guarantee. Eveveryting I was looking for an more from my base layers. Thank you pnuma

Best Base Layer Ever Made!
I will start by saying I`ve been an avid hunter for over 25 years and have worn more then my share of base layers some good and some not so much. The Icon X base layer shirt & pant is simply the finest I`ve ever worn! First impressions were that they looked to be very well made & well thought out. My only concern was I wondered if they were a little to heavy for early season where temps are usually still in the low to upper 70s. That wasn't the case at all. With our archery season opener on 09/15/16 I headed into the woods around 3pm and had a long & hilly walk in. My shirt kept me cool & dry even with my pack on my back. The shirt has vents strategically placed all throughout so you don't over heat. I`ve wore much thinner base layer and sweated bad in it. The other thing I loved is the muscle support it gives you & can feel it the second you put in on & will definitely help on those long walks in & long sits! I cant comment on the longevity of it only wearing it twice so far but with a lifetime warranty it was a no brainer to give it a try & so happy I did. I look forward to trying more of there products as I have the waypoint all-season jacket & pant on the way. I`ve always been a loyal cabelas customer with buying my hunting apparel but I think that's all about to change!

Finally a product that delivers what they said it will!
I received this shirt Friday right before I took off for hunting for the weekend. I was surprised with the packaging it was awesome, even had my name on it, liked that little bit extra. I also loved that I finally had a shirt that fit my big body and long arms ( I'm 240 and 6'5). I actually got to use the thumb holds for my thumbs, usually the thumb hold just make a shirt almost long enough to almost reach my wrists. This shirt was on the money, long body and long arms. I really really like this one. Can't wait for my pants to show up. By the way, that Saturday morning I had a nice 5x5 elk just yards outside my shooting range, maybe with the pants I can get that gap closed next weekend. The shirt feels awesome, it fits, and does what you say it will. And I appreciate that.

Awesome Base Layer
This shirt is awesome. First it came in a nice sturdy box, not a flimsy half ripped bag that UA ships in. The return label is already printed and included in the box, so if you want to return it for some reason you just need to tape the box back up, stick the label on it and drop it off at UPS. The shirt came with a free dry bag, which is great (who doesn’t need an extra dry sack!). This might be a promotional “gift” since I purchased this pretty quickly after the sight opened.
The shirt is built like a tank. The high quality of it is immediately obvious when holding it. Every place where two different fabrics come together there is a double stitch. This shirt seems like it will last forever, which is likely why they have a lifetime warranty on it.
I tried it on and it fit perfectly. I am 6’1 185 lbs (fairly slender) and bought the large. It’s long enough on me that I can tuck it well into my underwear. I started sweating almost immediately in my 76F air conditioned house. So it is a pretty warm base layer (I’ll know for sure when the temp starts dropping). The first thing I realized is that it is not overly tight everywhere. I have a lot of compression fit UA base layer shirts, and they are so snug that after wearing them all day you can’t wait to take them off (this is actually why I was looking to drop UA as my base layer). I don’t think that will be the case with this shirt. It’s snug on the torso, so it will wick back sweat, but in the arms and neck it is fairly loose. After I sweat for a while I could feel my body cooling down as the fabric wicked it away. This is pretty standard for any base layer though. The horizontal lines that are on the belly of the shirt were slightly scratchy, but after a while I stopped noticing it, but I could see how that might bother some people.
I went down in the basement and shot a couple of arrows while wearing it, and did not feel any constraints. Also when you raise your hands above your head the bottom does not pull up that much (it does a little though). This will come in handy when climbing a deer stand, or shooting a shotgun.
The shirt does have a “new fabric” like smell, but I assume after I wash with some no scent soap it will go away. I’ll update this review after I wash it with the results.
Overall I am very impressed with this base layer. It definitely replaces my current UA base extreme shirt. Paired with a merino wool insulation layer (I currently use Patagonia for this) and a jacket (I currently use ScentLok) I think that I will be much more comfortable sitting the full day on a stand during December in Northern Wisconsin. I will update this review after I actually use it in the field.
